In December 2019, the Department of Community and Economic Development purchased one fully electric vehicle and one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to replace three existing conventional vehicles that were at the end of their service life.
A detailed analysis of City fleet vehicles shows that the new electric vehicles will reduce the City’s operation and maintenance costs and will reduce the City’s greenhouse gas emissions.
The City will continue to monitor the use of its fleet vehicles to ensure that we use them in a cost-effective and environmentally sound manner.
