Sealcoating

Weather permitting, City of Faribault crews will begin sealcoating work on Aug. 1, on theAn image of map highlighting the locations of sealcoating work. northwest side of town. Purpose
The Street Maintenance division of Public Works provides for the maintenance of city streets, ice and snow removal, sign and signage installation, repair and replacement, and maintenance of the city's vehicle and equipment fleet.

Maintenance Activities
Street maintenance activities include:
  • Assisting other divisions within the Public Works Department when needed
  • Crack filling
  • Patching
  • Seal coating
  • Street lighting
  • Sweeping
  • Traffic control signs and signals
The staff also completes a limited number of overlays each year and horizontal construction projects for the Park and Recreation Department, which also includes paving city trails. The division has 10 full-time employees including the superintendent.
